Bathrooms are naturally extremely important to home buyers. While styles, sizes and décor can vary, home buyers ranked four most-wanted bathroom features in the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) latest survey of prospective and recent home buyers. Each is for the primary bath and relate to flexibility and comfort. Percentages are ratings for most “essential or desirable.”
No. 1: Linen closet (76 percent)
No. 2: Shower stall and tub (74 percent)
No. 3: Double vanity (69 percent)
No. 4: Private toilet compartment (67 percent)
The shower and tub combination in the master bath also ranked as the most “essential” feature, with more than a third (36 percent) of buyers saying they likely wouldn’t purchase a home without this amenity.
