Certified Green Professional (CGP)

The Certified Green Professional™ designation recognizes builders, remodelers and other industry professionals who incorporate green and sustainable building principles into homes— without driving up the cost of construction. The required courses provide a solid background in green building methods, as well as the tools to reach consumers, from the organization leading the charge to provide market-driven green building solutions to the home building industry.

CGP coursework is closely aligned with the ICC 700 National Green Building Standard, which includes chapters on energy, water and resource efficiency, indoor environmental quality, lot and site development and home owner education and is the core curriculum for the required CGP classes.

There are nearly 3,000 active CGPs in the United States working in all aspects of the high-performance home building and remodeling industry, from contractors and their subs to real estate agents and appraisal experts. Join them today.

• Green Building for Building Professionals—Implementing cost-effective green building into your construction practices begins with up-front planning that examines the whole house and the building science behind it. In this two-day course, you will learn how to apply green building practices in the construction of a new home, remodel, site development or multifamily project. With a focus on flexibility, a sound knowledge base and cost-effective solutions, the course provides the tools for a successful green project, including a review of the newly revised ICC 700-2012 National Green Building Standard ®.
• Business Management for Building Professionals—Learn the management skills that give industry leaders the edge. This course will give you a solid foundation for managing small to medium size building/remodeling and service companies.
