The Greater Iowa City Area HBA has elected Kevin McCreedy of McCreedy-Ruth Construction its 2021 Remodelers Council chair.
The award-winning council, part of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Remodelers group, offers a network for members and seeks to improve the business and technical skills of remodelers through education programs. It also aims to promote professionalism and its members through a variety of avenues, including the annual Iowa City Area HBA Remodelers Parade (June 19 and 20).
Kevin has been co-owner of McCreedy-Ruth Construction for 23 years. He served as vice chair for the council during 2019 and 2020. Kevin is an NAHB Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist and was named the Iowa City Area HBA Remodeler of the Year in 2018.
Beyond business, Kevin puts his skills to use at his children’s schools, his church and the greater community. In 2017, he was instrumental in building an all-inclusive playground at North Bend Elementary in North Liberty. When Kevin’s church – First United Methodist Church of North Liberty – underwent a major expansion in 2017, he was second in command, working with the architect on design and the general contractor during the build.
