Kids: Enter the Iowa City Area HBA Lego Parade of Homes May 17 – 31

The Iowa City Area HBA Lego Parade of Homes is back by popular demand, sponsored by Great Western Bank. Kids aged 17 and younger are invited to summon their inner builder for a chance to win prizes, courtesy of Locals Love Us – ICR.

Contest dates are May 17 – 31, with category winners announced June 11. The Lego parade tour goes live June 12 at www.iowacityhomes.thegazette.com/lego-tour, the first day of the Iowa City Area HBA Parade of Homes. The public may vote on the website for their Lego favorites through June 20, the last day of the Iowa City Area HBA Parade of Homes & Remodelers Parade. The Lego Parade People’s Choice Award recipient will be revealed June 25.

All winners will be announced on Facebook @ICAreaHBAParadeofHomes and Instagram @icareahba.

Here’s how to enter:
Step 1: Collect all your Legos.
Step 2: Build your home sweet home.
Step 3: Take photos of your creation.
Step 4: Enter your masterpiece by 5 p.m., May 31, at www.iowacityhomes.thegazette.com/lego-tour by following the prompts. Only first names will be used when publicizing entries. Don’t forget to include your description (e.g. number of bedrooms, colors, types of countertops, etc.).

Categories: Building Excellence & Creative Description
Top three in each category receive:
1st: $50 to Bread Garden
2nd: $25 to La Regia
3rd: Iowa Children’s Museum Family Pass

Winners will be named June 11, and judges are from Great Western Bank and Iowa City Area HBA Parade of Homes Presenting Co-Sponsors Hills Bank and Urban Acres Real Estate.

People’s Choice Award
The entry with the most public votes wins $50 to Bread Garden. Voting is June 12 – 20 at  www.iowacityhomes.thegazette.com/lego-tour. Winner will be revealed June 25. 

“Everyone had so much fun with the Lego parade last year that we decided to do it again,” said Iowa City Area HBA Parade of Homes Co-Chair Mitchell Manning of Sobaski Abbey Carpet & Floor. “Kids are incredibly creative, and we’re eager to see 2021 entries.”
